Surveyor General's Office, and Marriage Registrar

I enclose the usual Certificate of leave. As Mr Power leaves by the outgoing Mail, it becomes necessary to provide for the performance of his duties, and I have accordingly to report that I have appointed Jt Chagas, 9th Cler in the Surveyor General's Office, to do the duty of no 1st Clerk in addition to his own, drawing half Mr Power's Salary (£250) and the full Salary of 2nd Cler (£300).

I have appointed Mr Gerrard, First Clerks in the Registrar General's Office, to act as Registrar of Marriages under Ordinance 1 of 1882 during the absence of Mr Power.

These arrangements take effect from 1st proximo, and are made as usual, subject to your sanction and approval.
